Description
After getting the email that my extra build plates were on their way i set about designing some storage. I wanted it to become part of the printer and look like it was meant to be there. I also wanted to have the door open wider as i have my printer to the right of me and the original door hinge just means the door gets in the way. So i came up with this!!
There's room for:
Original Glass Lid
3 x Build Plates
All the tools supplied with the printer (4 x Allen keys, 2 x Screwdrivers, Scraper*)
Also has storage for side cutters and a utility knife.
*the scraper that is printable from the USB drive can be used but i have included a shortened body version so that it doesn't foul the build plate storage, you'll just have to use the original block for the screws.
I printed all the parts on my Elegoo Centauri Carbon using Tinmorry Metallic Space Grey PETG @ 0.28mm Layer height & 0.4mm Nozzle (i think it is a great colour match and prints really well.
I used 3 walls for the wall loops to give the hinge some strength and 20% Gyroid Infill.
You will need to add supports but the Carbon seems to print these very well and removing them is easy.
The brackets all fix in place using the original black Allen bolts found on the side panel.
The hinges fix to the original glass door using the original hinge plate but after removing the part that screws to the frame of the printer (see pic)
The only additional parts you will need are:
2 x M5 x 30mm Cap Head Bolts
2 x M5 Nuts (i used Nylocs so that i could adjust the tension of the door hinge)
I've also included a Top Bracket that doesn't have the tool storage if that's what you would prefer. Just change the ‘Top Bracket Inc Tool Storage’ to ‘Top Bracket’, or print the appropriate ‘ALL PARTS’ file.
If there is any clarification needed for anything please get in touch.
Thanks
Carl
