MDT universal input junction box

This is an junction box for surface mounting, for example next to cable ducts. The box is primarily intended to accommodate the MDT KNX Universal Interface BT (e.g. BE-06001.02) in order to integrate conventional surface-mounted switches into the KNX bus system.

The enclosed carrier accommodates the KNX device and Wago 221 terminals. However, other internal carriers can also be used for different applications. The cables are routed under the tray to ensure good accessibility to the terminal area. In addition, the KNX device is clearly visible and easily accessible for programming.

On each side there is a slide-in cover with pre-markings for the cable entry. These covers can be printed with the same material as the box itself. It is sometimes advisable to use a more flexible material such as TPU or TPE to provide a better seal to the cables. The design of the box guarantees a certain degree of protection against dust and moisture. However, I cannot guarantee a specific IP rating.

The screw connection of the cover and the internal carrier with the base enclosure uses heat-set inserts. The background to this is that the housing is opened and closed several times for the installation and programming of the KNX device. As a result, screwing directly in plastic suffer and no longer hold so well. The holes for the M3 heat-set inserts are suitable for those from Ruthex. The cover is held in place with M3 x 12 screws and the inner support with M3 x 8 screws.

Wall mounting is done via two reinforced holes in the floor.

The model files can be printed without any support. Knowledge and the right tools, such as a soldering iron, are required to install the heat-set inserts.

Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Installationsbox für die Aufputzmontage, beispielsweise neben Kabelschächten. Das Gehäuse ist primär dafür vorgesehen, die MDT KNX Tasterschnittstelle/-interface BT (z.B. BE-06001.02) aufzunehmen, um damit konventionelle Aufputzschalter in das KNX-Bussystem zu integrieren.

Der beigefügte Träger nimmt das KNX-Gerät sowie Wago 221 Klemmen auf. Es können jedoch auch andere interne Träger für verschiedene Anwendungsfälle verwendet werden. Die Kabelführung erfolgt unter dem Träger um eine gute Zugänglichkeit zum Klemmbereich zu gewährleisten. Zudem ist das KNX-Gerät für dessen Programmierung gut sichtbar und leicht zugänglich.

An jeder Seite befindet sich eine einschiebbare Abdeckung mit Vormarkierungen für die Kabeleinführung. Diese Abdeckungen können aus dem gleichen Material wie die Box selbst gedruckt werden. Es bietet sich mitunter an, ein flexiberes Material wie TPU oder TPE zu nehmen um einen besser Abdichtung zu den Kabeln zu haben. Die Machart des Gehäuses garantiert einen gewissen Schutz gegen Staub und Feuchtigkeit. Eine spezifische IP-Einstufung kann ich jedoch nicht garantieren.

Die Schraubverbindung des Deckels und des internen Trägers mit dem Grundgehäuse nutzt Einschmelzgewindesätze. Hintergrund ist, dass das Gehäuse für die Montage und Programmierung des KNX-Gerät durchaus mehrfach geöffnet und geschlossen wird. Dabei leiden Einschraubungen direkt in Kunststoff und halten nicht mehr so gut. Die Löcher für die M3-Gewindeeinsätze sind passend für jene von Ruthex. Der Deckel wird mit M3 x 12 Schrauben und der innere Träger mit M3 x 8 Schrauben gehalten.

Die Wandmontage erfolgt über zwei Bohrungen im Boden die verstärkt ausgeführt sind.

Die Modelldateien können ohne Support gedruckt werden. Um die Gewindeeinsätze einzubringen, sind Wissen und das passende Werkzeug, wie etwa ein Lötkolben, notwendig.
