Description
Computer-optimized components for the original Wind Cannon are provided, which can increase airflow velocity by about 40% compared to the previous versions. Exit airflow velocity can now reach near 30 MPH. Additionally, the finned versions of these components substantially reduce fan noise.
Now free for all. If you print it, please upload some make photos to share the love.
NOTE: These components are intended to be used with the original Wind Cannon (link provided below). The optimized nozzle and diverter posted here replace the original versions. Wind Cannon can be safely disassembled, if already built with the previous versions (took me a couple hours to replace these components on mine).
INCLUDED:
(1) Two versions of the nozzle and diverter - one with inner fins and the other without fins.
(2) Detailed PDF drawing of the Wind Cannon having the optimized components (non-finned) installed that shows the new geometries.
ASSEMBLY RECOMMENDATION:
To fully maximize airflow performance, it is recommended to secure a strip of foil tape over each hardware access hole in the diverter (after fastening the diverter to the chassis assembly), as shown in the photo. However, this step is not essential for proper functionality and can be omitted.

3D printing settings
Designed for FDM printers having 0.4mm nozzle dia.
Both components are no-support designed. Prototypes were successfully printed without supports.
NOTE:
The thin walls of both versions of the nozzle are 1.2 mm thick. The thin walls of the finned version of diverter are 1.2 mm thick, the non-finned version are 0.8 mm thick. All fins are 0.8 mm thick.
