Description
All parts are FernandoF's original scale. If you want 1:144 scale, scale everything to 115%.
Fernando got it spot on. The only way to properly display a Saturn V is on a LUT. His design looks great. It's not meant to be completely accurate, but it is still excellent.
I didn't print the Saturn V. I already had a Revell 1:144 scale model that I wanted to use. I had to scale all his pieces up to 115%.
I had problems connecting the tower pieces. The upright beams or the connectors would snap off so easily. I don't know how it's not impossible to build when printed at his scale. The changes below to the sections and beams should help at Fernando's scale. All these pieces are rescaled back to his 100% scale.
I included a file (LaunchPad_100% test.stl) so you can make sure that your rocket will fit. I cut the original launchpad section so it is just the rocket opening section and only a few mm thick. It prints quickly.
Also, I love realism. There were some things that I felt were missing, so I designed and added them to my final build. I also thought of a couple ways to make the build easier to eliminate the breakage. I believe that most of the new pieces I designed can be scaled to your print scale and added to an existing build.
FernandoF's directions were not clear how to connect the electronics for a beginner like me. I had to learn a lot to complete the electronics. So I made a pretty detailed direction sheet for beginners. The PDF is included with the files. It includes pictures and links to videos I used to help me learn what I needed.
