This is the Staff of Wisdom from the Kung Fu Panda movies. I modeled it to be roughly 6 feet tall (1.83 meters) and can be assembled with super glue and a small length of fishing line.
Assembly
- There are two ways to print the top of the staff. You can print the Top_Front and Top_Back and then follow instructions 2-8, but this requires a larger printer. If you don't have access to a large enough printer, you can print the Top_Front_Hook, Top_Front_Base, Top_Back_Hook, and Top_Back_Base. The two Fronts and two Backs will fit snug but should still be glued together. Then follow the rest of the instructions.
- Then take the Top Front and super glue a length of fishing line (or some other hard to see string) horizontally to line up with the cut-out sections in the print.
- Next take the Top Back and do it vertically (or vice versa).
- Then line up the Front and Back and super glue together. You could print a section of the pole to help line the two pieces up as well.
- Next you take the two halves of the Floating ball and super glue them together so that they line up with the X created by the two strings. This should then give it the illusion of floating.
- Next you print one Pole Bottom and 7 Pole Extensions to reach 6 feet.
- Then you can either just screw them all together or spread super glue on the threads and then screw them together.
- Add any finishing touches you want and then that's it.
