Description
Another solution to a random problem: Someone has an adjustable desk and they need a UPS because of random power issues. The computer cords are too short when the desk is up and the UPS is on the floor and equipment gets dangerously moved around. Oh, and the UPS's built-in mounting screw holes broke within 24 hours of first being used in an attempt to mount the UPS (Please don't image a 20lb brick falling 3 feet to the floor with computer cables still attached. If you just did, you now know why I had to fix this problem.)
Solution: Two 3d printed hold down [up] clamps. The UPS can now be mounted on the underside of the desk. When the desk goes up, everything stays in place and the UPS cord is the only thing that needs to hang down. (Cable management is much better and cords are no longer a kick hazard.) Power plugs helpfully keep the UPS from sliding out of clamps. (This user had no wall-warts - these clamps may make several ports unusable if you have a bunch of wall-warts on your UPS.)
Print in your choice of materials (I suggest ABS) and colors. Print part laying flat on build plate and eliminate any in-fill to make layer lines span the entire part. I printed mine with 0.2mm layer height and a slightly too hot bed temp (don't look to closely at my part, please!) in a mis-guided attempt at fusing layers better. Secure with your choice of two #10 pan head screws.
