Description
In the Amber Temple there is a stone statue with a skull face so I'm playing with this model. It follows my standard routine and then I added skeleton "Claw" hands from my hands model gesture collection as open hands looking for an offering. I've set this in 3 sizes - 32mm, 60mm and 120mm. I kinda have it in my head that each floor should be 60mm (or twice as tall as a typical 30mm miniature) so 120mm is kinda like a two floor tall statue.
I added the skull "facade" here as well thinking maybe it could be a neat mask. The nose isn't quite right for someone's face. I did a test print of this at about 41% and a 15 degree tilt on the print bed. I think it came out nicely but I've misplaced it so no photo on here just yet (but will add when I find it again :D).
I have more plans with this miniature including a stone textured version and maybe some other variants (candle holder? mini stand? dice tower maybe?). Lemme know what you'd like to see in the comments and/or follow along here and patreon to see the future updates.
For FDM printing you can print it straight up with no rotation. I used a standard 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height, thin tree supports at a 30% threshold for the 32mm version. Just be mindful of the hands when removing supports and you should be good. The 32mm model only took about 30 minutes to print, 60mm is about an hour.
I don't like printing "bricks" like this in resin but the 32mm should be fine in resin. If there is interest I can work on a hollowed and pre-supported version for resin folks (but this might be better when I get around to making a textured version!).
