Description
A parametric model of a 1990's glass ashtray which I measured and use in various sizes as parts trays. You can quickly make it taller/shorter/wider/thinner by editing the parameters in Fusion. Get rid of the cutout by deleting its elements. I find the cutout useful for stopping a driver rolling away while putting small screws in, etc.
I print in PLA. 2 shell walls, 15% lightning infill. Ironing top surfaces. This leaves you with a light part that is strong enough for the purpose. Sand with fine paper (I use P600 3M wet and dry) then spray with an acrylic undercoat. Repeat this a few times until you can't see lines any more, then spray with a colour and glossy coat. Makes a pleasing object for use on my desk when model making or taking apart object with small easily-lost parts.
