Description
This is a modest upgrade to the Surefire X300U-A by replacing one or both of the existing rail clamps with an extension piece.
Background: These were iteratively developed in about 9 stages. I later found out similar products already exist on the market, but I have a 3D printer and no patience to wait for shipping.
The mod offers three faces for enhanced grip:
The mod is also produced in both left hand and right hand. As well as Three standard lengths. Short (27mm), Medium (31mm), and Long (36mm) to accommodate a variety of handguns and thumb preferences.
Print Instructions:
Print 100% infill using a stiff and strong material. I've tested with Bambu X1C PAHT-CF and Fiberon PET-CF (note, NOT PETG). Use a raft as the bottom line can get pretty thin.
Pre-Installation Check:
When printing, always check your hole diameters. If they're too small like seen here. It's smart to drill the holes out to 2.15mm, or a #44 drill bit. If you're like me and don't own a full drill kit. You can use the stock screws. Just screw them in and bottom it out to ensure the holes are to size. This is important as it will push extra material out that could get stuck inside your flashlight and cause a snapped screw. Ok. I've warned you.
