Description
I made a storage system for all my oil paint tubes, brushes, and other supplies to store them inside DEWALT DWST08035.
It has 3 layers, each layer consists of two parts, you can print them one by one.
You can glue parts or have them separated to easy take out one half at a time.
The upper/top layer you must glue together anyway (check photos for grey part with clamps).
I put my tubes layer at the bottom, it's the heaviest layer.
Second layer I have my artistic oil and glass cup, brush cleaner cup, turpentine, etc.
Third layer I use for brushes, cloth, spatula and in the end it had space to add painting tape on top of it.
The tool box also comes with a yellow smaller box with dividers, you can use it too instead of third layer, just put it on top of the second layer (I'm working on attachments on the side of the toolbox to attach this yellow box too).
Each half has 3 threaded holes to put inside 95mm shafts. Each shaft has holes with 10mm distance to help to align high of each layer (I thought it would be useful, but in practice you won't look at these holes at all :D).
I printed mine with Overture Matte PLA Blue and when it finished I used Prusament PLA Silver.
As infil I used Adaptive cubic and it worked well and saved bunch of time.
Initially I made screw connectors holes, so you could connect parts without glueing them, just screw together - but it didn't work out - while taking out layer with paints, these joints cracked quickly. So I moved to use dovetail joints and wide middle face section to help with glueing if needed.
I also included the empty plane version, which has precise inner dimensions of the toolbox, so you could use it to make your own version.
Happy printing and painitng.
