Description
After downloading and slightly modifying another makers run out sensor cover (see my other models) i have decided to make my own. Due to the clip on nature of the other cover it doesn't always stay in place.
I wanted a more secure fixing and so have replicated the original base and added the sides to allow a PTFE tube (4mm) to be mounted to the input side. This then allows you to mount your spool remotely.
I've also included some clips that can be used using the original side panel M3 Bolts.
All printed in Tinmorry PETG Black & Metallic Space Grey.
I am currently working on a Spool Roller that can be desk or wall mounted.
To fit, move the print bed away to allow access (now disconnect the main power) and remove the 2 screws on the inside of the printer that secure the run out sensor in place, keep pressure on the sensor from the outside to stop the original base falling out of place. Once the screws are removed carefully move the sensor away from the machine to reveal the base (this might fall away) make sure all the internal components remain in their installed position.
Now just fit the new base making sure you align in the correct orientation (it will only fit one way) see pics for reference. Move the new assembly to align with the screw holes and refit the 2 screws.
Thank you
