Powermatic 5+ Automation Upgrade

These models were created using Fusion 360.

These models Allow you to add extra tobacco and tubes with the Powermatic 5+

Powermatic machine will need to be opened up and modified so you can keep tobacco door open while using the machine. This will void any waranty because one of the screws that needs to be removed is under a tamper proof seal. Heres a video on youtube showing you what to do.

You will need 1 3x3mm Neodymium magnet to install into tube shoot.Here is a link on amazon https://a.co/d/915vR50 or you can just steal the one that is in the original door.

The inside walls will need to be sanded. Here is the link on amazon https://a.co/d/d6kQZBS for sander. do not worry about the back wall just sand theflat spots front, right, and left inside walls. Only worry about the flat parts. dont worry about the curved areas. Start with 80grit to  knock down all the print lines till you cant catch your fingernail on them any more. Then switch over to 120grit to smooth out scratches from the other grit.  then Finish with 220grit for a smother finish. Keep your sand paper clean and take your time and do a good job. Do not use electric sander. It causes too much heat. Wash with dish soap in between grits and when your done. If you did a good enough job sanding the inside finish will be ok as is and wont need any paint, filler or anything like that.

Do not use Supports.                                                                                                                                               Make sure Tobacco and Tube Shoot is Printed upside down.                                                                           Profile Setting = Super Quality - 0.12mm                                                                                                             Build Plate Adhesion = Brim                                                                                                                                           Travel /  Combing Mode = All

I sugest using Hot Glue to Hold Models onto the Powermatic machine.

V2 of tube shoot just added. this is a much better design than v1. dont even bother with v1. It has been redesigned to lock on pm5 with out glue, has a hole to remove magnet now, and tubes will fall to bottom without jamming on each other and hanging up. But you must sand!

Also dont forget to install magnet or pm5 will just eject tobacco and never load a tube first.

MORE UPGRADES AND UPDATES to come in the future including a Tobacco auger feeder, a way for tubes to be removed if they dont fall off nozel, tool storage holders, and Leaf Only mess keeper ect.
