Description
Added a V2 of the spool barrel. Added a knurl knob to the end because I was having trouble removing the nut without being able to fit my hand between the spool and the printer to hold the barrel. Review the last photo to see the changes I made to Support settings for printing.
I wanted to make a spool holder that spins like it has bearings and also has a nut which centers and locks the spool on the holder. Modified a model I used from my Sovol printers to fit the Centauri Carbon with the spool holder adaptor.
Directions: I've included the .3mf files in the way I printed it. either print the file in one go or separate prints also you can separate the parts if you want to print it in multiple colors.
after printing the spool arm and removing supports twist it in the hole of the printer a few times to “break in” the twist lock before assembling into the spool holder.
To assemble, seat the two halves of the sleeves on the spool arm with the threads facing the twist lock that goes into the printer. holding them in place slip the whole spool arm a sleeve into the spool holder threading the sleeves into the spool holder. Best way I've found to tighten it at the end is to use a small flathead screwdriver into the split to tighten it down.
once fully assembled use the wrench tool printed with the spool arm to twist the spool arm into the printer. once installed put a spool on with the cone of the nut going into the spool to center it.
accessories file is for various adapter to fit spools with larger holes and well as a nut for deep sided spools.
