Description
This is a slightly more robust version of the all-plastic one I made. The one pictured is the 150mm version. I generated 200mm, 250mm and 300mm versions as well. The way it's designed allows more than one device per side (e.g. and DSLR and phone on one side, a mic and spotlight on the other).
I printed the bar in PLA at 0.2mm layer height and 50% infill. That seems to work for my purposes. ABS, ASA or PC filament might be better if you're concerned about strength or temperature resistance.
The knobs and (optional) E clips are fine to print in PLA at default settings. Wouldn't hurt to add support to the hexagonal overhang in the knobs, though.
You'll need a ¼"×1" hex head bolt for each screw.
For each screw, push a bolt through a knob, starting from the hexagonal indent side. It's a tight fit but, once in place, it should stay put.
The E clip is optional but I found it useful for preventing the screws from dropping to the floor when changing devices.
If you are the least bit hesitant about using this with your equipment, don't do it. Personally, I wouldn't use this with any device I couldn't easily replace in the event of failure. Use at your own risk.
