Adaptable rewinder installation on Prusa CORE One UltiMulti MMU3

Mým záměrem bylo nainstalovat Ulti Multi MMU3 na CORE One bez toho aby se zásadněji měnily rozměry a nebyla potřeba baterie externích bufferů. toto řešení navazuje na Prusa CORE One UltiMulti MMU3

Hlavní cíle:

1. Významně nezvětšit rozměr CORE One.
2. Udržet uzavřenost CORE One.
3. Vytvořit možnost horního přístupu do CORE One.
4. Možnost přidání jednoho až pěti rewinderů.
5. Umožnit jednoduché sundání a nasazení doplňujících rewinderů k Ulti Multi MMU3 na CORE v různé konfiguraci.
6. Použít Filamentalist_Rewinder k vůli menší šířce a potenciální kompatibilitě s COREBOXX

Nikde jsem nenašel řešení, které by to splňovalo. Použil jsem tedy myšlenky z několika zdrojů a provedl úpravy k docílení celkového výsledku.

Základní myšlenkou byla odnímatelná instalace sady rewinderů na horní okraj tiskárny, příčně či podélně při zachování odnímatelnosti víka tiskárny.

Zachovat kompaktnost a uzavření Prusa CORE One UltiMulti MMU3 pro dvě barvy nebo rozpustné podpěry na pozici 1 a 5. V případě potřeby pak možnost více barev pomocí tohoto řešení.

Potřebné úpravy:

1. Žádné další úpravy na CORE One či Ulti Multi nejsou nutné.
2. Rewindery jsou upraveny pro ložiska 688 a FESTO M10, které jsem měl k dispozici.
3. Kromě tištěných dílů rampy je zapotřebí 40 cm AL profilu 20x10 mm a 8 x magnet 5x5x5 mm

Rampa:

• 2x gumový kroužek na rim_roller_6mm_x2 - ustřižený z pneumatiky jízdního kola

Toto řešení mi vyhovuje mnohem více než odkrytovaná tiskárna a spousta bufferů a cívek okolo, či bedna nad tiskárnou.  Málokdy tisknu něco, co potřebuje více než dvě barvy. Dočasné přistavení rewinderu je řešeno právě tímto doplńkem

 Věřím, že toto řešení se hodí více lidem, minimálně jako inspirace.

18. 6. 2025: Rozšíření rewinderů o 5mm

Filament rewinder pro COREBOXX je poměrně úzký, aby jich do boxu vešlo všech pět. Taková šířka má trochu problém s cívkami filamentu o šířce 75 mm.

Toto jsem odstranil rozšířením rewinderů o 5 mm a úpravou rampy.

Rewindery jsou rozšířeny vložením 2.5 mm podložek mezi kladky a těleso. Hřídel zůstává stejná.

Rozteč rewinderů na rampě je rovněž zvětšená rozpěrkami o 5 mm delšími a jiné bočnice umožňují zasazení takové delší rampy.

Upravené díly mají v názvu řetězec “wider”.

My intention was to install Ulti Multi MMU3 on CORE One without changing the dimensions significantly and without the need for an external buffer battery. This solution is the next step following the Prusa CORE One UltiMulti MMU3.

Main goals:

1. Not to significantly increase the size of the CORE One.
2. To keep the closed design of the CORE One.
3. To create the possibility of top access to the CORE One.
4. Possibility of adding one to five rewinders.
5. To allow easy removal and installation of additional rewinders to Ulti Multi MMU3 on CORE in various configurations.
6. To use Filamentalist_Rewinder for smaller width and potential compatibility with COREBOXX

I could not find a solution anywhere that would meet this. So I used ideas from several sources and made changes to achieve the result needed.

The basic idea was to install a set of rewinders on the top edge of the printer, transversely or longitudinally, while maintaining the removability of the printer lid.

This will maintain compactness and closure of the Prusa CORE One UltiMulti MMU3 in case of two colors or soluble supports at positions 1 and 5. If necessary, then the possibility of more colors using this solution.

Necessary modifications:

1. No further modifications to CORE One or Ulti Multi are necessary.
2. Rewinders are modified for 688 bearings and FESTO M10, which I had available.
3. In addition to the printed ramp parts, 40 cm of AL profile 20x10 mm and 8 x magnets 5x5x5 mm are needed

• 12x M3x8mm Flat Head Cap Screw
• 2x rubber ring  inner 27mm,outer 20mm, thickness 3.5mm
• 2x rubber ring of rim_roller_6mm_x2 - cutted from the bicycle tyre 

This solution suits me much better than an uncovered printer and lots of buffers and spools around, or a big box above the printer. I rarely print something that needs more than two colors. The temporary attachment of the rewinders is solved by this add-on

I believe that this solution is suitable for more people, at least as an inspiration.

2025/6/18: Rewinder extension by 5mm

The filament rewinder for the COREBOXX is quite narrow to fit all five of them to the the box. Such a size has a bit of a problem with filament spools with a width of 75 mm.

I fixed this by widening the rewinders by 5 mm and modifying the ramp accordingly.

The rewinders are widened by inserting 2.5 mm washers between the rollers and the body. The shaft remains the same.

The rewinder spacers on the ramp are also increased by 5 mm and other sidewalls allow installation of this longer ramp.

The modified parts have the string “wider” in the name.
