Ikea desk hook for bags and more (Ikea UTESPELARE)

This is a simple hook for your backpack or anything else to be mounted directly on the Ikea UTESPELARE frame…

… or any other, of the same frame size, ~40 mm wide with the screw hole centered.

The model has an in-built notch for the hook alignment (so that it does not rotate). A hole for easy screwing to the table.

How much can it hold?

I have been using one of such hooks printed with PETG for a year already with a ~3 kg backpack and did not notice any issues with the print structure.

The final weight the hook can support depends on the material you are using.

How to print

• PETG is recommended since it can hold heavier items (but PLA / PLA+ will also work)
• 0.2 mm layer +-
• Supports are not required
• Print on the side as the model provided to improve the strength

Tools required

• 1x 5mm hex key for the screw

How to mount

• Remove one of the 14 screws holding the tabletop
• Put the screw through the hook
• Choose the orientation - it should work two ways
• Screw it to the table
