Parts list

  • Sword

    • 2 - 5/16 inch threaded rods or wooden dowels cut to 14 inches

      • Mostly to reduce the stress on the guard where the blades slide in and out

      • Always check, bevel, and sand your wooden dowels

    • 1 - 5/16 inch threaded rod or wooden dowel cut to 4 inches

      • Optional, used to join the swords at the pommel

Assembly Instructions

Printing is pretty straightforward. For putting the swords together you'll need 4 of the guard_pin, 15 of the blade_pin (8 for the big hand, 7 for the little hand), and 2 of the pommel.

I decided to keep the length of the rod much shorter. The area that needs the support is the guard where the blade can slide in and out. From testing, the blades feel pretty secure with the support rods. The dowel for connecting the ends of the handles is there to facilitate the aesthetic. It'll hold, but it's not meant to support being swung around a lot in that configuration.

I designed this so that the blades are removable. They can be glued into place if you want to lock everything in, but the idea is to allow these to be broken down for travel or storage. A little painters tape on the dowels and area that slots into the guard should be enough to hold everything securely for assembly.

All the tips for the different rangers are include. There's also a little helper tool for marking and masking off for painting of the little swords. Just align the notch on the tool with the tip of the inset part of the blade. Fully assembled versions for scaling are included as well, excluding the connecting support hole.

Lengths

  • Length of the little hand: ~29 inches (~738.33 mm)

  • Length of the big hand: ~36.5 inches (~927 mm)

I excluded the details that go on the silver part of the handle. From the references that I could find, most were very blurry. I elected to just give a nice flat surface for painting on that detail if you so choose.
