Plustek Scanner Film Holder for 127 film

This is a film holder for 127 film for use in the Plustek OpticFilm 120 series of film scanners. 

It is pre-split so it can be printed on a reasonable size printer. The two halves snap together and should be glued or taped together.  

I print it with a layer height of 0.2 in PETG on a Core One.

The holder keeps the film at the correct height for sharp scanning… given my printer and my scanner. If the film is more than about .2mm off the plane of sharp focus you'll lose detail in scanning. 

If your film scans are not sharp because the film is too low, you can use Scotch tape as a thin shim along the underside  of the holder if needed. The tape needs to go right up to the edge of the holder along both long edges. A layer of tape is about 0.06mm, so 2 or 3 layers may make a difference.  (If it's because they're too high, you'd need to take a little off the height of the holder. )

There are clips to go under and over the film to hold it in place. These are probably best printed in something resilient. Meaning PLA might be too brittle.  The body itself might be fine in PLA.  

The Top Clips are to be printed upside down - with the top face on the bed.  Everything else gets printed right-side up. 

There are teeth along one side of the holder body. These have been modeled so they need no supports, so I use a support blocker there. All the other overhangs probably need supports. There are cavities in the body (room for holding the film clips/supports) that need support.

I've made the top clips easier to use. They fit a little looser but have a spring action that makes them stay in place.

New version of model. Both the opening and the clips are just 1 mm narrower than before, which I find makes loading curly film much easier.
