Invention - Inspired by Futurama

Good news, everyone! Come and see my new invention!

Inspired by the “Cool-o-meter” from Futurama, this is slightly redesigned in order to make the keyboard usable while holding the device.

This “invention” is built to fit a Rii X8 mini keyboard, which will continue to serve its purpose as a keyboard while in its new shell. Hold it down with duct tape if you don't want to glue it in.

It incorporates many lengths of wire! (Well, it incorporates one length of wire.) We specifically used 12 gauge (2mm) thick aluminum wire. If you're a plastic purist, I'm sure that you can cut some black filament from one of your spools and insert it in the holes. Heck, use a heat gun to bend the filament, if you're crazy. But we used real wire, to make Professor Farnsworth proud.

The knob can be downloaded on MakerWorld. Search for “radio knob for chevy truck”. And give the author your thanks.

The “screen” is produced by placing the photo file in Microsoft Word, and scaling to 1.5 inches high. I recommend printing to decal paper, to make the “screen” neat and stick to the model somewhat permanently. (Don't throw in the dishwasher.)

The dish will absolutely require supports. The rest probably won't.

Connect the plastic pieces to the body with super glue, or 3D Gloop. The length of wire doesn't really need to be glued in, but feel free to do so if you want.
