Philips OneBlade 1-piece razor (lazy) case / The lazycase to store the razor in 1 piece 😁
I found some cases here to hold my OneBlade, but they were not fitting to my OneBlade (QP2824/31) set fully.
While thinking about such a case I found some more points which were missing to me:
DIFFERENT SET VARIANTS: More important than not fitting MY whole OneBlade set, I found several different variants of such OneBlade sets and so there seems to be not “the ONE fitting case". Also not everyone will need all the delivered pieces in such a set. Maybe you like to place a charger in the case too? So a more random layout makes more sense to me…
GOOD & QUICK HANDLING: I did not like the found cases require to disassemble the blade from the razor holder all the time… Call me lazy, but I don’t want for remove the blade all the time and put it separately in such as case…
STORAGE AFTER USAGE: One other thing is, that if you cleaned the blade under water after usage, you do not want to put it a bit wet into the case. You want the blade hanging in free air to dry faster…
EXTRA BLADE STORAGE: I also wanted to put the extra blades more secure in the case, so 2 extra blades are in separate segments, where they can be stored more secure and can wait for their first job safely…
DYNAMIC USAGE: Whatever you like to put the razor up or down into the case, should not be restricted…
EVERY DAY USE vs. TRAVELING: I have a small shelf in my bathroom to put such a case one. So the case should work as travel case and at home without opening it every day. It should just sit there. Just putting the lid under the base could solve this to keep the footprint smaller - ready to use and fast to close when I need it on travels…
So some tasks to think about, how to handle these points?
I wanted a different, YES a "more lazy focused" case, where you can store the OneBlade without disassembling and put all the more dynamic pieces depending on your OneBlade set more random in.
That's what came out of my 1st ideas to solve all of the above named points:
(6) A case which fits on my bathroom shelf and can be used every day and on travels without opening it every day. Just put the lid under it to keep the footprint small
The lid also has small raised parts holding the lid straight on the base AND raising the whole case from the shelf to keep it dry under the case
(3) Drying the slightly wet razor even if the case is closed. The holes should work fine
(2) Storing the razor as 1 piece without disassembling the blade
(5) Using the case whatever you like, putting the blade up or down.
BLADE UP: For better drying
BLADE DOWN: For a bit more security for the blade
(1) Just add the extra bits and pieces in the large components fast, easy and lazy ;-)
(1) Drop out some not used items and add a charger is possible too…
(4) Extra segments for the not used blades that secure them from damage:
So I hope you like these 1st ideas. If you have others let me know for a 2nd variant. =)
After print actions:
The case closes strongly and easily held by 8 pieces of 6x3mm round magnets. They are pressed into the case after printing. Check their orientation before adding them to the case, so that the case closes:
To get the texts in a different color add a color change to the top part after 1mm print height and after about 2.4mm again to the desired color. To read how such a color change is done, you will find a really good article here.
