Komori Planter | with reservoir
A quiet evolution of the Kumiko planter.
This is the new version of the Kumiko planter design, I wanted to explore a more understated form.
With Komori Planter, I’ve moved away from the traditional footed base and distilled the structure into something more compact, and functional.
This planter design consists of three components:
- Planter: Built with drainage holes to encourage airflow and healthy root systems.
Its dimensions—160mm (L) × 80mm (W) × 69mm (H)—are ideal for most standard desktop plants. - Kumiko-pattern outer shell: A lightweight geometric lattice that adds rhythm and structure to the form while maintaining visual softness.
- Reservoir base: Designed with a rail system, the planter slides into place with a satisfying fit. A built-in air gap helps regulate humidity and supports passive watering over short periods.
Komori Planter continues the spirit of the Kumiko series while refining usability, simplifying maintenance, and enhancing the tactile experience, ideal for those who appreciate quiet design in everyday life.
