Description

This is the simpler version of my Spiral Vase Rose that is just the outside, and can work as a container. Resizing should be fine, and you can also use this as a base for doing something different with the inside of the model.

Since this has fewer corners and details, it's a lot flimsier than the more complex model, and will flex easily in your hand. I haven't tried printing it with two walls yet instead of vase mode, but I think that might work better for say, an LED candle holder.

I'll add more here after I've done more testing, but I wanted to get this version uploaded in case anyone wants to play with it.

To print (as tested so far):

  • Spiral vase mode, 5 bottom layers, 0.2mm height, 0.4mm line width
  • May also work but I haven't tested it: 5 bottom layers, 0 top layers, 0% infill, 2 or 3 perimeter, turn off ‘ensure vertical shell thickness’ in Prusa slicer, adjust speed and extrusion % as needed
  • Increasing the infill/perimeters overlap % (In Prusa slicer, Print Settings>Advanced in Expert mode) can help if you have trouble with vase mode prints trying to break off of their bottoms.

For scaling purposes, the bottom diameter of this model is about 6.5cm inscribed, 7cm circumscribed.
