Description

Belt buckle in the roller coaster style, fitted for a 1.5in~37.5mm wide belt.

Requires a metal compression spring acquired separately that does not exceed 6mm diameter. I pulled my springs from a spring assortment kit bought online, but you can probably find springs lying around as long as you can get two identical. For reference I used a 5.5mm diameter spring with an uncompressed length of 15mm. Assembly makes use of two quarters/coins(is it more likely someone has quarters or a screwdriver at home? \_(ツ)_/ )

If you are having trouble finding metal springs try this other model that is entirely 3D printed:
https://www.printables.com/model/874720-belt-buckle-roller-coaster-style

This version is “Belt Buckle-A002”

There are three variations separated into different folders:

  • “Buckle(3pin-1hole)” = Has 3 bolts and only 1 hole which requires you to sew a loop on belt. This is more or less the default configuration.
  • “Buckle(3pin-1hole)” = Has 3 bolts and 2 holes on both sides, no sewing required.
  • “Buckle(2pin-1hole)” = Only 2 bolts and only 1 hole.

Build instructions are included in a pdf file.

Printing Estimates/Stats:
15% Infill - 23.66g - $0.47 cost(PLA) - 1h3m printing time

*Note: there are alternative style options for: "Buckle 3"

*There is a slight gap issue, especially the 2pin variant, that can possibly be solved by gluing the back a bit and clamping together overnight. Try to avoid getting glue on the moving parts.

*Not meant for climbing or to hold up anything you value highly.
