World of Motion

World of Motion, presented by General Motors, was an original Epcot Center attraction that debuted with the park on October 1, 1982, and operated until January 1996. Located in what is now the Test Track pavilion, it was an ambitious and sprawling dark ride that took guests on a whimsical and humorous journey through the history of transportation, from the dawn of time to a vision of the future.

Designed by Disney Legends Ward Kimball and Marc Davis (known for their distinctive humor and visual gags in classic animated films and attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion), the attraction was characterized by its lighthearted approach to education. Guests boarded continuously moving Omnimover vehicles, traveling through elaborately staged scenes filled with Audio-Animatronic figures and projection effects.
