35mm photographic film cutting guide with LED lighting

A 35mm film cutter for using with razor blades or scalpels. The little handle folds down to hold the film in place with the rounded pads, the slot ensures you're cutting in a straight line. 

The handle is held on with two M5x20 screw and nuts. I use nice domed hex ones, but any M5x20 will do. The nuts are 7.85mm outside width side to side. 

And then because everything is better when it's USB powered and covered in LED's… I filled it with some LED strips i had laying around from another project, cheap 3mm silicon coated 5v strips so I could wire them in parallel to a little USB Mini breakout board. Both available from many many sellers on Aliexpress ( eg https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005001845014059.html and https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005005549145092.html  ) used some hot glue to isolate the electrical connections and hold it all in. 

This lighting is REALLY effective to get the gaps between photos in the right place. you can see a brighter line where the cutting gap is when the handle is up. Make sure to use a light semi translucent filament to make it visible but also to defuse the light a bit. 

The handle is flattened to print upside down with the rounded tabs that need some support. The base prints the right side up and you only need a little support where the USB plug is. I used PLA+ and I recommend some form of PLA for stiffness.
