Forward Grip for a 2 Handed Rod

This upper grip is for a fishing rod.  I used it on a 7wt. switch rod as a substitute for expensive cork grips.  It has a tapered internal diameter of 9.16 to 10.08 mm and a maximum outer diameter of 70 mm.  It features a thumb rest for additional control.  I suggest printing it using a “fuzzy skin” feature in your slicer to hide layer lines and help give it a more cork-like look and feel.  I also changed the colors of the filament to look more like a commercial cork grip.  Use a somewhat flexible filament like PETG for best results.  It is printed in 2 pieces, then glued together and glued to the rod blank.  By adjusting the scale of the file in your slicer, you should be able to change the internal diameter to fit several rod blank diameters.
