IKEA Stefan Chair Felt Pad Adapters

I designed these adapters for the IKEA Stefan chair to make it easy to install felt pads on the chair legs (see Fig. B). The goal was to improve how smoothly the chair moves without the felt pads coming loose over time.

These adapters encapsulate the felt pads securely and can be removed for cleaning without needing to detach anything from the chair itself. The adapters are designed for a tight, friction fit — no tape or glue required — so they stay firmly in place at the bottom of the chair legs.

Please note: The front and back legs of the Stefan chair have different shapes. Therefore, I’ve designed separate adapters for each:

B = Back leg adapter (see Fig. C)

F = Front leg adapter (see Fig. D)

Each adapter also includes a marking to help with proper alignment during installation (see Fig. 4).

Print in durable material (e.g. PETG or ABS recommended) to ensure longevity.
