Description
I've modified this excellent model for increased stability and magnet support for the “thumbscrews” - the brackets are the same size, so if you already have them printed and screwed on they'll be fine, but this version has a slot for 10x1mm magnet, and so do the thumbscrews.
Assembly instructions - follow this if you don't want to print twice like I did! :)
I put a little 3M rubber strip on the part that goes on top of the back of the case - see the photo - I recommend you do the same.
Glue the magnets into the thumbscrews - make sure they're polarised the same - the thumbscrews should repel each other.
Once this is done and the glue is dry, pop on a magnet on the thumbscrew (again, make sure the glue is dry!) and put a droplet of superglue in the bracket slot.
Place the magnet in the bracket using the thumbscrew and hold for a few seconds until the glue bonds (not too long in case some glue leaks out).
Pull the thumbscrew out - the original magnet should still be attached to it, and you should have one magnet in the bracket now.
The rest of assembly is as per the original model.
You will need a large printer for the plate - I printed this on an SV06 Plus. I think you can try to split the plate in half and print it on a smaller printer. The main benefit of this plate is that it uses all 6 screws for load bearing, rather than just 4 like the original model - makes me feel more confident during those gusty crosswind landings :)
