2020 Extrusion Panel mounts

This panel mount allows Plexiglas panels or other panel materials to be mounted within 2020 aluminum extrusion frames. I used them to add a panel to the bottom of my HyperCube printer. The mounts provide the advantage of placing the mounting hole well away from the edge and putting gentle pressure on a wider area rather than a concentrated screw hole so that cracking is less likely . Using these mounts also makes the panel easy to remove without internal access.

To use these panel mounts, drill a 6 mm hole in the panel 12 mm from the edge. Attach the mount with the bushing and a 3 mm x 8 mm screw and washer. Use a 5 mm screw and extrusion T-Nut to mount the other end to your 2020 extrusion. The bushing hole is self tapping.

The mount is designed for 3 mm thick panels but can be used with thicker panels. For thinner panels, you may need to shorten the bushing.
