Description
Here is my version of the Cheshire eyepiece, in a 1.25" (31.75 mm) version.
I split it in 4 parts, so i can 3D print all of them, in two colors. No glue needed.
The crosshairs is replacable! this is so fragile, i wanted the eyepiece to be reparable. It is possible to use it without crosshairs if needed, as it is a separate body.
I added a cap to protect it.
If you want to print the piece “capuchon”, please print the V2. The V1 (in gcode, split and non split assembly) is too lose.
I use black PETG for the main body, and white PETG for the reflective part.
The white part is located in rotation thanks to 3 smalls guides, so it will not move. By the way, you can't go wrong while assembling it, thanks to the guides.
The crosshairs is located in the same way.
For a better handling, i added a fuzzy skin texture in PrusaSlic3r.
You can use this tool to collimate your telescope, weither a Newtonian, a Cassegrain or even a Ritchey-Chretien
