This is an antenna winder designed to be the secured ends of a multi-band Inverted Vee antenna. It's been designed to hold about 10 meters or 35 feet of AmazonBasics 16-Gauge speaker wire for use on the 40-Meter to 6-Meter bands (7MHz to 50MHz).
To prepare the antenna, first print two winders from a sturdy filament such as PETG. Cut about 10.5m or 35' of wire from the spool and split the two strands. Start winding by first locking the end using the central holes (see photo), then continuing to wrap the wire around the winder. To keep the loose end from unwinding, lock it in the wire locks. Connect banana plugs, or whichever connector you'll use to attach the wire to your balun or feed point, to the loose ends. When you're ready to set up your antenna, use the large holes opposite the wire locks to attach paracord or some other rope to secure the ends to the ground.
For information on how to properly set up the antenna and the correct height and lengths, refer to a calculator such as the one created by WB4BXW. At the correct height, length, and leg spacing, the antenna should not require a tuner. A 1:1 balun may be used to reduce radiation from the feed line and prevent interference from following the feed line to the transmitter. For convenience, you may want to mark how far to unwind for each band on the wire.
Credit to Windcamp for most of the design - if you'd like a premade antenna they are widely available from them online.
Please post your makes, and photos of your new antenna in use!
