Description
First, turn off the printer and unplug the power cable. Double-check everything during the conversion to avoid any accidental damage.
I wanted to use the cover to improve the cooling of the stepper drivers, similar to the MK4/s.
I used a 40mm Noctua NF-A4x10 24V PWM fan and melted in M3x5 press-fit sleeves.
I then installed the included adapter with the stranded wire at the end and crimped the cable ends with cable lugs.
Since the stranded wire is very thin, be sure to check several times to make sure everything is securely in place.
I then screwed the cable to the POWER IN connectors on the mainboard. This causes the fan to run as soon as the printer starts up. Unfortunately, it's not enough on the print bed, as it barely runs once the heated bed is just maintaining the temperature.
Also, be sure to check for any cables that could get caught in the fan. I followed Prusa's wiring guidelines when assembling the Core One kit and didn't have to adjust anything.
As allways, if you have any feedback let me know.
