Description

This is probably a little niche, but I uploaded it anyway in case you might find them useful.

These are parametric hooks which wrap around a rafter beam. Because they wrap around, they don't lift up (or just a little bit) when removing a pot or pan. They are pretty strong and I can put anything other than my cast iron stuff on them. I recommend you print them in a material that will bend before it breaks for safety reasons. I printed them in PCTG.

Generate the stl:

Place part1.stl, part2.stl, part3.stl, extrusion.stl, and hooks.scad in the same folder. Open hooks.scad in OpenSCAD and adjust the height and width to match the beam. The hook will end up being a little taller than the beam. Generate the .stl.

Print:

Split into objects. Print the top part flat, print the bottom part standing vertical with snug “everywhere” support. It will generate tiny supports under the cleats. Print and remove the support.

Installation:

Place the top part over the beam. Slide the bottom part up from the bottom. The arms of the top part will bend apart slightly to allow for the cleats on the bottom part to pass under the cleats of the top part. Then pull the bottom part down to lock the cleats in place. Push the arms of the top part in so they sit in their channels.
