Description
OpenBikeSensor is an open source, open data and citizen science project.
See https://www.openbikesensor.org/ (only in German language available).
You can find a translation of the description in the PDF “Instructions_OBS-DisplayUnit_tactileSwitch” of my alternative display unit for the OpenBikeSensor.
The parts are available for seat post tube diameters of:
That should fit for most of the bikes.
Printing in PETG is advised.
Nozzle 0.4 mm, Layer height 0.2 mm. 5 wall loops, alternate extra wall (to get a strong bonding to the infill). 4 top and bottom shell layers, Infill 30 %, infill pattern triangles. Wall printing order “Inner/Outer”.
The part was developed to press in the nut so it will not fall out during handling.
To mount the nut take the counterpart and one M3 screw (easier with a M3x8 like commonly used for assembling the OBS). Insert the nut through the pocket on the side and the screw through the hole and fasten (see photos). The nut will be pressed in into the hexagon pocket.
The pipe clamp snaps into place on the pipe. Tighten the screws until the mounted sensor can no longer be moved to the side with light force.
The FreeCAD model files are published too. Change the “Configuration” to get the desired dimension.
