Description

I made this stand for DavidBogaerts model from Thingiverse. His original file is X=63.51mm, Y=119.03mm, Z=45.17mm. I scaled it up 140%. I chose that size because I had a Cylon Raider model that I scaled up to 387%. I estimated the relative size of the Viper next to a Cylon and came up with 140% for this model.

The color change the original size file happens at 9mm. Multiply 9 by whatever scale factor you use to get the new height for the color change. If you scale with a percent, divide the percent by 100 (or simply move the decimal 2 places left) to get the scale factor.

It will also work for Al Mon's awesomely detailed Viper Model. I don't know the size of his, but when you have it printed, measure the distance from the front end to the rear of the engine and divide it by 48.5 (the distance between the prongs that clip on the engine). That will give you the scale factor for printing the whole stand. Use the original size files to do this. Use the same scale factor you come up with and multiply by 9 to determine the color change height.

There is a file with two prongs and a file with one prong. The two prong file will attach at the front and back of both engines. The one prong file (in the picture) attaches with two prongs at the front and one in the center of the back. I like that one, but the other is there if you want to use it instead,

I also included the 140% scaled files that I used since I had them. Use them if you use David's model and scale it to 140%. Do the color change at 12.2mm.

I designed a stand for a Cylon Raider as well. It has a different scale than this one because I was estimating the relative size of a Cylon Raider and a Viper side-by-side.
