Description
My apologies to anyone who came looking for something else.
I recently added a blind shaker to my espresso tools. (I tried this, it made better coffee, so I got the Normcore blind shaker.) I wanted a way to keep my bottomless (aka naked) portafilter level while I was releasing the coffee into it, but I lacked the third hand needed to make that happen. I made this small stand.
Then, in case other people might want it, I added a height adjustment from 30mm to 50mm so you can match your specific portafilter. My portafilter sits level at 37.5mm. Your handle needs to have some downward tilt so it’s resting on the ground while the head is in the leveler. It *should* work fine with bottomless portafilters smaller than 58mm. You'll just have some space left over. I only have mine to test, but I hope I left enough room for this to help other people.
Note: You will need support for “Naked Portafilter Leveler.stl”. Only support the ceiling, not the threads.
Update 7/16/25: All my other coffee toys have a little heft to them. I changed the base so you can add some pebbles or beads or whatever to give it a bit of oomph.
