My son wanted something with the Boeing Phantom Works Phantom Man logo on it. I made several versions for him to choose from. All of them are 150mm circles. They have a cutout on the back to hang on a nail or screw.
NOTE: I've changes the position of the “Phantom Works” text on the versions with text. After printing one I saw that it was too small and didn't look that good. So I changed the position and made it bigger. The text is in the same place as in the first picture for the extruded version.
- wall phantom man extruded w text-- Has the Phantom Man logo as well as a Boeing logo and “Phantom Works” text. There will be a color change after the background prints. The Phantom Man logo has two levels, so there will be a second change for that. If you were recreating the picture, it would be a white background, black outline and shadows, then white to finish it off.
- First change at 12.8mm when the background finishes.
- This color will be the outline and text.
- Second change at 17mm for the rest of Phantom Man.
- wall phantom man extruded--The same as above but without the text. The same color changes as above also apply.
- wall phantom man recessed w text--This one has the text and outline and shadows recessed. The rest of Phantom Man is extruded above the background.
- I started the print with the color of the outline and shadows i.e black. That way the bottom of the recessed areas will be that color.
- Make the first change between 12.6 and 13.4mm. 12.6mm is where the solid fill of the recessed areas ends. Then it starts the outlines of the text and outline/shadows. You could keep with the black (whatever color you use) until 13.4 just before it starts the first solid layer of the background color. If you stay with that color, it will show more of the shadow color when viewed from an angle.
- Change again at 13.6 for the background color and the rest of the Phantom Man details.
- wall phantom man recessed--The same as above but without the text. The same color changes as above also apply.
I haven't printed these yet. I did print a smaller version that sits on a shelf or desk. Those are the pictures I've included. The extruded ones were done on an old printer that I just use for test prints. I also changed the filament one layer too soon, so I had to use a black Sharpie to color it. That's what the extraneous black marks are.
The pictures of the recessed Phantom Man were done on my MK4S.
