Description
I made the M2.5 wrench when assembling CATIAV5FTW's jet engine. Little room was available for fingers, a washer, and a hex nut (when joining the fan stator casing and HP core casing, for those who want to know). The solution was to create this combination holder and wrench to keep the nut and washer in place and secure them. Creating the other sizes was a natural follow on. And then, of course, you need a nifty storage box!
Each wrench has a pocket sized to hold a nut and washer. A hole at the bottom allows the screw to pass through when tightening. The pocket is placed at the tapered end of the tool to allow maximum access in tight spaces. Small grooves on the edge help with grip, and the embossed size on top identifies each wrench. I used the maximum ANSI sizes for the nut and washer pockets, so if your hardware tends to the minimum allowed size, you'll have a little wiggle room.
Prints without supports. I used 15% infill. Note that the lids should be printed top down, including the lid with labels. The bridging distances are minimal, and you should not need supports. The storage box lid is a little tight the first few times you close the box.
2025-0724 - Added STL file for empty box bottom as an alternative to the original with dedicated storage slots.
