MakerChip Keychain Holder – Snap Fit

This is a simple but functional snap-fit keychain holder designed for the MakerChip – a custom poker-style chip for makers. This holder transforms your sad keychain into an equally sad, but functional keychain ;)

There are two versions available, depending on the thickness of your MakerChip:

• One for 3.0 mm thick chips
• One for 3.5 mm thick chips

Both versions are designed for chips with a 40 mm diameter, which is the standard size for the original MakerChip. Make sure your chip matches these dimensions for a snug and secure fit.

The design is printed in one piece and requires no supports. The chip simply snaps into place from the front, held by the edge notches of the holder. Once inserted, both sides of the chip (logo and QR) remain fully visible and scannable.

This makes it perfect for using the chip as a digital business card, a scannable profile, or a geeky daily carry item. Attach it to your keys, lanyard, or backpack with a standard key ring.

You can easily copy and modify my design from Onshape if you want to adapt the holder to your liking.
