Ikea KINNAHULT Lamp Shade

Since the Ikea Kinnahult lamp came with a dark lampshade and that was blocking a lot of light, I decided to model a lampshade and print it. 

Walls are 0.8mm thick. Model printed without supports. 

For PETG: print with fan OFF (only ON for the curve at the top of the model). 

For PLA: use normal settings, but would recommend decrease a bit the fan speed to improve layer adhesion. 

For mounting it needs at least the top “support ring” included with the Ikea kit. It's recommended to use both, except for PLA since layer adhesion is worse than PETG's so the print can delaminate if too much pressure is applied when attaching the bottom ring. I will work on improvements since mine broke while trying to do that. 

Feel free to do remixes and interesting shapes for it. 

 

Update: v2 has a slightly smaller base inner ring. This makes it easier to put the base support on.
