Intro

This is a Fog Vial, an item set to be released in the asymmetrical horror game Dead By Daylight starting July 29th, 2025. It can be used by survivors to spawn a cloud of disorienting gas, but now you can use it as a little bottle to hold whatever you like!

I’ve pulled the actual files directly from the Public Test Build in order to adapt them into the model shown here.

As such, it’s not the most perfectly “clean” model; given it was made to look good in a video game and not to be 3D printable, there are a few places where I had to get creative in order to make it work, and there are potentially some fragile spots, depending on how you decide you want it. However, if you follow the instructions properly, everything should work out fine. So, without further ado!

Instructions

I’ve included a video down below that goes into all this in detail and shows how to do everything, so I definitely would recommend checking that out.

But without further ado, here we go!

The first thing you need to decide is if you want to include the leaves and/or the ropes. As you can see in the images, the actual in-game item has a rope handle, and leaves tucked into the cork. Both of these are optional, and you can choose any combination of having them or not. In the 3mf, Plate 2 has holes in it, and can be printed in lieu of Plate 1 if you want to use rope, and Plates 4 and 5 can be printed instead of Plate 3 if you want leaves. If you want to attach a rope, you’ll need two lengths of about 30-40cm each, with about a 5mm diameter. The actual holes themselves are about 6.5mm in diameter.

There is also a stand I’ve included. The bottom of the Vial is flat, but it’s not the most stable thing in the world, so you may want to print the stand to keep it from getting knocked over.

Parts List

3D Printed Parts:

Jar with/without rope holes

Cork/ Cork with leaves+Cork with a hole in it for the leaves

SideLeatherBottom

SideLeatherTop

EquatorLeather

Studs (4 of them)

Stand (Optional)

Other Supplies:

Glue

2 pieces of rope, 5mm in diameter and about 30-40cm each

Print Instructions:

I’ve included 3mf files with all the settings premade. There are two of them; “FogVial3mf” is a standard print profile with supports turned on, and “SupportMaterial3mf” is a profile with the option of using a separate material for support. I HIGHLY recommend you use the second one, as the irregular model shape really benefits from it. Other than that, the only special thing to mention is that if you’re printing the leaves, you ideally should use a 0.2mm nozzle. Even if you turn on “Detect Thin Walls,” it’ll still have some defects with a 0.4mm nozzle.

Assembly Instructions:

Start with SideLeatherBottom, and then put SideLeatherTop on top of it so that the triangle indent fits into the triangle hole. Glue them together.

Then comes the Jar (doesn’t matter which version). Make sure the little triangle bit sticking out of the Jar lines up with and goes into the triangle-shaped hole in the SideLeatherBottom; this helps make sure you lined it up correctly. Don’t glue it yet!

Next, put the EquatorLeather on top such that it lines up with that little triangle bit from before. You may need to bend the SideLeathers out a bit to get it in underneath them; this is perfectly normal.

Make sure all the 4 holes in the side line up with the holes in the Leathers. Insert the 4 Studs (they’re all the same size) into their respective holes, keeping everything lined up. Now that everything is lined up properly, you can glue everything in place.

Next up, the Cork! If you don’t want to bother with the Leaves, you can just insert it in the top. It’s pressure-fit in, so you can remove it easily if you so wish. If you want the Leaves, just put the part with the Leaves into the Cork that has a part taken out for the Leaves, and glue it in! If you’ve done it right, it should fit into the top of the Jar just like its Leaves-less counterpart.

If you want to attach a rope, you can take your length of rope and insert it from the top into the hole with the oblong opening–the one that goes all the way through and comes back out. Then, wrap it back up around and glue it into the other hole. I recommend twisting the end of your rope and gluing it to make it easier to insert into the holes. Then, take the other end and do the same with the pair of holes closest to that one! Repeat on the other side, and you’re all done!

Of course, if you print the Stand out, you can put it on there for display or safekeeping. No glue needed.

Lemme know if you have any questions!
