Work In Progress! -But works well :)
Â
This is for you if you want to save the good LTL120QL01 12" 2160x1440 Screen from your weak old Tablet.
I did not manage to resurrect the Touch controller but the Panel itself is a very neat secondary screen with a great PPI and colours.
The Stand is VESA 75x75 compatible and is has a little cable-organizing-feature.
Â
If you are looking for a way to use the Chuwi Hi12 Board, take a look at this:
https://makeronline.com/en/model/Chuwi%20Hi12%20Intel%20Atom%20Mini%20PC/159304.html
Â
You will need:
-the HDMI Board for this line of screen Models from e.g. Aliexpress (30-40€) "HDMI LCD Controller Board 12 inch 2160x1440"
-a Piece of Tape and 4x 2mm Screws, around 7mm long.
-some glue
Optional:
-a printer with over 273x198 Bed size (or cut the Model to your liking) I used an Ender 3 Max for the big parts.
-friction welding Dremel Tips https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6300222 or a 3D Printing Pen (alternatively just use strong glue)
Â
I may change some things on the Stand or the rear housing over time. but i will note it here. It works Pretty good the way it is now but I have a few Ideas for additions.
Â
Assembly:
Print all parts, start with gluing/welding the two rearcover halfes, don't forget to leave space for the cables, maybe you want to try putting everything together first.
You can screw, weld or glue the standoffs for the rear electronics cover from the rear covers inside.
If you want to use screws, you obviously need in total 8 shorter screws, instead of 4.
Next screw the HDMI Board to the rear electronics cover, lead the cables through. and connect the Screen to the flat cable.
Shield the PCB with the menu buttons with tape and shove it underneath the panel-connector. Hold the connector in place with a drop of hot glue. Now carefully put the screen in the rear cover.
You can put some foil of display Protector on the screen before putting the Frame on or just leave it as it is. put the Frame on the rear cover and test the function of the screen before gluing! If it does not turn on but the HDMI Board lights up, make sure the connector sits right on the screen's bottom.
Glue the Frame - Have fun with your new Monitor!

Devices that use this type of screen:
Chuwi Hi12LTL120QL01-003 2160x1440 Proven - (the one i used)
Â
Very, very likely to be compatible:
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (Modell 1631) LTL120QL01-003 or LTL120QL01-001 2160x1440
Lenovo Ideapad Miix 700-12ISK (Typ 80QL) LTL120QL01-001 or LTL120QL01-003 2160x1440
Acer Aspire Switch 12 LTL120QL01-003 2160x1440
Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 LTL120QL01-003 2160x1440
and some more. you may research yourself or ask GPT about it. Keep in Mind, that some Manufacturers glue the Screen to the Glass.
Â
Updates:
14.05.25 - Changed dimensions of the cutout for the bottom connector to the LCD because it was too firm in combination with the application of hotglue
