Abalone shell soap dish / Paua seashell bowl

This is soap dish from 3D scan of real Abalone Shell, utilising its natural breathing holes to drain soap water.

The scan has been simplified, optimised for printing, and legs were added for proper positioning of the shell in use. One of the legs acts as solid flat starting layer.

additionally, there is engineered fin/support which has to be broken off after printing

I reccomend silk PLA, e.g. blue/green metallic

for printing, I use manual tree supports for the legs and bottom of the shell, near buildplate. Holes do not need supports, but they can autogenerate.

It is quite a hit in my family, with fifth print under way for a gift second day after making the model
