Description
Since there weren't the right pads available and the acceptable ones were quite expensive i chose to use normal pads for ma TMA-2/TMA2 an.
Here you can find the files for the conversion.
The plugs are a bit tricky:
1) i would print them laying, the slit being vertically, so that the bending is within the layer to enhance durability. But this leads to a varying quality and i would just print double the amount you need and use the best ones.
2) the sizing is a bit tricky, for me this sizing fits perfectly into the holes of the speaker unit, its tight but doesn't push in the silicone socket. But you might need to elongate or slim them down a bit. A good fit there is key!
3) They need quite a bit of force to get in place, i put them in position and them forced them in with the help of my table. This was a deliberate design choice, i wanted a secure connection and a construction under tension to eliminate rattling.
After that there is the question of round vs oval pads, both should be usable for both styles, but of course the oval ones fit better to oval pads. The Oval ones have a "twist", the connection of the pads and the speaker unit is trough a thin bar. This makes the outer ring a floating design that can rotate independently around the Z-Axis. This shall make them a bit more comfortable for daily use. The pads can move a bit more out of the way when the headphones hang just around your neck and are more adaptable while wearing them normally. For me it was a definite improvement over the versions without that feature.
