Description
While my Nikon Z7 was mounted on the telescope and connected with a computer, the connection was interrupted from time to time because of wobbling connectors.
I don't know if this holder fits also on a Z7 II, Z6, Z6 II - please leave a comment if you tried to fit a holder on one of these cameras. Thanks.
Important: no fixation on camera body due to missing threads (unlike other [bigger] Nikon DSLR/DSLM), only alignment through the ribs near the connectors and the two pins which fits inside the jacks for audio and mircrophone (so they are not usable - sorry).
Don't pull on the cables (too strong), only wobbling motion prevented.
There are infinite shapes and dimensions of connectors, therefore it is not possible to design “one for all”. The cables should fit with little clearance (measurement vs. drawing: at least 0.2 mm, in my case it's working well with 0.2 mm) otherwise little wobbling could still be possible.
Dimension of breakthroughs can be seen in the drawing, check if your cables are fitting - of course depending on the used material and printing accuracy.
If you need a model with different breakthroughs for cables, either modify the FreeCAD model, the STEP model or contact me to change and add a model for other cables.
Weight about 10 grams, printing material PLA, PETG or whatever you want to try, but shrinkage must be taken into account to get a nice fit for the cable connectors.
Nozzle 0.4 mm, Layer height 0.2 mm, 2 wall lines, infill 10%, no support, no brim if bed adhesion is good but it's not the worst idea. Small side on printbed (see picture for alignment).
A similar cable holder for Nikon D7500 DSLR is available here: Cable Holder Nikon D7500
If you like the body cap as shown in the photos, you can find it here: Nikon Z Camera Body Cap
