Description

The rubber arm rests of my WFH office chair (Interstuhl Prosedia Se7en model 3462 broke down and pretty much disintegrated. Replacements are 50 euro each, so I wanted to make my own. Should fit chair models 16G2 3462, 16G2 3464, and Everyis 142E.

  • You can use the molds (sharp outer edges) to cast silicon for padding and top the silicon with the rounded design, using tpu to print them.
  • Alternatively, you can use the existing (thin) foam, although de arm rests might need to be reduced in height for that.
  • Third option: cast the silicon directly in the tpu printed armrests - I don't know how the silicon interacts with the tpu print.
  • Final option (I tried this initially, but found it very difficult to fasten) is to use the molds for silicon arm rests and top them with fabric.

I used 27(A) silicon and 95(A) tpu to cast and print the arm rests. This results in quite firm arm rests: you might consider using materials with a slightly lower Shore hardness.

I printed the molds first in pla and cast the silicon. De-molded and printed the rounded designs in tpu to top the silicon. Optionally deburr the edges of the tpu carefully.
