Spool Core Can Holder (Bambu or Elegoo)

Turned one of my previous designs into a can holder/koozie, specifically made to fit Bambu and Elegoo cardboard spool cores.

2 empty spool cores needed. The parts are designed to friction-fit snugly, so no glue or fasteners are needed. Just be aware that Elegoo cores might need a bit of cleanup—leftover glue and paper scraps are common after removing the spool sides.

Finished this one off with spray paint and acrylic washes for a weathered, sci-fi look.

Update 8/8/25: V2 different style and a more forgiving tolereance for the spool cores I also raised the can a bit so it sits more cleanly. 

Update 8/2/2025: Realized that the spool cores leave enough room around the can for additional insulation. I added a 225mm x 85mm piece of 4mm packing foam inside  the finished koozie (see photos) and I think it may actually make this more practical than I originally planned lol.
