Description
To give you an idea of what my intention was with this models, I was inspired by this music video: Royal Blood - Figure It Out (Official Video)
The idea it's that different parts of the figures in the caps are revealed depending on the color filters and what color program you make with Corsair iCUE Software.
I am not an expert in colors, so the next explanation is oversimplified:
Any color Its a combination of Red, Green and Blue (RBG). To visualize this, we can work with the next color wheel:
RGB Colour Circle 48 Hue by Michael Jenkins
What we will do, it's to use color filters, to block some colors. This filters can be made with different materials, as long as they allow some light get throw them. In my case, I will use 3D printed "lampshades" and acetate films to get a couple of different effects.
The combination of color will be a limited. We can use
Keep in mind that some reds, blues and greens will probably not be "pure", and will let throw some others color.
In may case, I worked mostly with Red and Blue, because I struggle to find “pure” green filters to block R and B.
The main functional modification I made to the original capswap was to the pegs. They are now to different parts. I did this to:
The filters go in the back. If you choose to use acetate, I made some pegs for it, but you can also glue them.
For example:
Acetate:
3D printed lampshades
I experimented with two ways to use filters.
1. The drawing it's complete visible. Different parts are highlighted using the filters as background. For this one, using 3D printed "lampshade" worked well.
2. A small part of the drawing it's hidden, and it's revealed when the correct color light its on. This works better with acetate.
