About

This device screws into the hopper port on the back of a Pinter.  There are two versions, one is threaded for a ¼" NPT connector, the other is unthreaded and you'll have to tap or modify it yourself. 

Assemble

You'll need a few things to make it work.  

  1. A ball lock adapter for gas.
  2. A keg charger for threaded CO2 canisters.
  3. Some CO2 canisters (16g).

This is threaded for a 1/4’’ Male NPT insert (from the ball lock adapter). It will be tight so use a wrench and make sure to fit the gasket between the adapter and the 3d printed part.  To make this a bit more food safe, I would print it PETG and use food safe ArtResin to seal the interior of the print. 

Usage

Disclaimer: use at your own risk. If you break your Pinter, experience injury, or spoil your brew, it's on you. Similar parts are floating around the DIY community, so do some research and use precautions as this is a modification.  

This is just for a one time top up use and not meant to be a continuous CO2 feed.

  1. Screw the ball lock adapter onto the part.
  2. Screw the part into the hopper port on the Pinter.  If it spews out, your print or seal isn't working.
  3. You can pop on the keg charger and read the pressure in the pinter. Typically after a few pours it will read about 5 psi.
  4. Making sure the charger is OFF, thread on a CO2 canister. You can slowly add pressure into the Pinter.  You wanna be somewhere between 15–20 PSI.  Don't go beyond that. 
  5. Disconnect device and unscrew part.  You shouldn't need to charge it up again for this brew.

Printing

For the print, 5 perimeters (for strength) at 40% honeycomb or cubic infill (again there is about 20 PSI going through this thing) works well.  I did it in PETG but I'm sure other filaments might work ok…do seal it whatever you choose.
