Description
A symmetric wind turbine inspired by the Archimedes Wind Turbine Remix by Stuart800.
I used three EZO 685 ZZ bearings (outside diameter: 11 mm, bore diameter: 5 mm, width: 5 mm; metal protection on both sides), and I used just a spot of glue for the bottom one to hold it in, but be careful with the application, so it will still spin; for the bearings along the turbine axis, the main dimensions and geometry keeps them in position, but there is some axial play for less stress in the axle, so DON'T glue them in place.
I used Polymaker PolyLite ASA Natural for the whole print. I printed the Archimedes turbine with supports, although I've seen other people print it successfully without it, but I'd still go the safer way and use supports. I highly recommend printing the axes horizontally for the maximum strength, it's trivial you'll need supports there too, and you'll need some post-processing to make its cross section circular. I recommend supports for the holder and converter parts too. I printed the fin from ASA too, and it warped, but I could straighten it mostly with a hairdryer.
I also published my own turbine assembly in .step, for easier modifications, and I used the original turbine from the remixed model (archimedes159.stl, you'll need to gently remove the three stands and the collar from the bottom). You'll also need a 14 mm diameter rod to stick in the ground, I used wood.
